We are thrilled to showcase some of Claudia Legge’s incredible photography in our London Concept spaces this Spring. Legge’s transcendentally ethereal and contemporary photography is daringly different, with a clear focus on shape and bold blasts of vibrant colour.
Legge specialises in underwater photography, it is her talent for capturing the exquisite nature of light that is truly exceptional. The ways in which she manages to reveal the secrets of the light as it bends and fractures when piercing through spaces such as water and glass, is at the core of her work. Her unusual water perspectives create a world of soft fluidity and fragility, leaving each object and body beneath the surface seem infinitely weightless.

Many of Legge’s recent exhibitions have been vehicles to raise awareness about the health of our oceans and the demise of underwater eco-systems around the world. Her often dark imagery is seemingly a comment on the perils of our waters that have suffered from over-fishing and human interference.
Legge’s recent exhibition India/Underwaterprovides an intimate portrayal of the worlds last salt-water elephants, submerged in the water these vast mammals become delightfully playful, Legge’s innovative camera angles draw a new and fresh perspective on these incredible creatures that are so rarely documented beneath water.
